I am absolutely in love with this book!
I thought it was going to be another one of those boring books Ms. Levine chose for our class, thankfully it involves things I'm intrigued by. HA.
We should read more books like this x)

*I love the color purple too*

the color purple is a good book. the only thing is the convesations its kind of hard because of the dialogue. by the way my favorite part is when Shug tells Celie "YOU SURE IS UGLY"

To Kill A Mockingbird! The Things They Carried! Romeo and Juliet! The Outsiders! Catcher in the Rye! These are boring?! *Sigh*

Remember to focus on analysis while posting your comments.

Enjoy the weekend :)

The Color Purple is just one of those books you wont get tired of reading over and over again. I actually read this book on the train and it makes me think. The only thing i dont like about this book is too much sexual activity and the dialogue is hard to understand. Other than that, its awesome !

The setting and plot of the Color Purple by
Alice Walker captures the readers attention
and places you into the characters position.
I would truly state that this book is enthralling
and an exquisite piece of work since it explores
themes such as Survival and thriving, that helps
me understAnd what obstacles the narrator or main
character experienced. As the novel prolongs,
I discovered that the narrator Celie had been
a victim of abuse both physical and verbaly.
With influences from Sofia and Shug Avery, and
everyday lessons, I acknowledges that Celie
have grown out of being isolated from the outside
world and is learning to stand up for herself.

In class today I somewhat agreed with Shug Avery's beliefs and views about God. You don't neccessarily need to go to church to "have a connection with God" or to just believe and what not; one can be just as religious from hom as in church. It made me feel somewhat better about not going to church..

The Color Purple is a good read so far. It's cool to see how someone can make so many realizations in their life, going from feeling like a nobody to feeling like a part of the world. It inspires to never give up, even when you feel like the tiniest speck in the universe. I like the Color Purple for all the content between the lines, whereas all the other books we've read were just for quick entertainment.

The Color Purple is amazing (the color and the book)

It gives insight into how life was in the south while following the life of our main character Celie.

The Color Purple is one of the best book's we've read. Ms. Levine should let us watch the dinner scene in school. Thats my favorite part.

THE COLOR PURPLE IS GREAT!
It's my kind of book. It is not boring at all and every page captivated me. I hate the letters from Nettie though. That was the only downfall.

I CANT BELIEVE THAT MR. DID A COMPLETE 360. HE REALLY CHANGED AT THE END OF THE BOOK FROM THE BEGINING. I ALSO CANT BELIEVE CELIE FINALLY STOOD UP TO HIM.....
